XXI VOCAL COMPETITION
"SPRING FIESTA 2025"
REGULATIONS

  

We invite your ensemble and soloists to participate in the vocal competition "Spring Fiesta 2025."

Venue: Entertainment and Leisure Center OAZĖ (Baltų pr. 16, Kaunas)
Date: April 5, 2025
Application and backing track submission deadline: March 17, 2025

ATTENTION: The organizers reserve the right to close applications earlier if the maximum number of participants is reached.

Objectives of the Competition

• Provide opportunities for young and talented singers and vocal ensembles to showcase their abilities.

• Foster vocal culture in the country.
• Enrich the emotional, moral, and intellectual development of young individuals.
• Encourage collaboration among leaders of children's and youth vocal groups in popular music.
• Expand the artistic and cultural horizons of young performers and their mentors while promoting individuality and tolerance.

Competition Regulations


Participants: Various children's and youth vocal ensembles from across the country, including studios, pop choirs, show groups, ensembles, and soloists performing pop, rock, jazz, country, folk, gospel, blues, hip-hop, and other music genres.

Categories

Soloists are divided into seven age groups:
4 - 6 years
7 - 9 years
10 - 12 years
13 - 15 years
16 - 18 years
19 - 21 years
21+ years

Vocal ensembles are divided into four age groups (the age group is determined by the average age of the group members):
4 - 7 years
8 - 11 years
12 - 15 years
16 - 19 years

Program
Soloists perform one song live using a backing track ("minus track"). The backing vocals can be pre-recorded in fragments but must not duplicate the lead vocal. The song duration should not exceed 4 minutes.
Vocal ensembles perform one song live using a backing track ("minus track"). Singing along to a full recorded track, even in fragments, is not allowed. The backing tracks for vocal ensembles must not include pre-recorded background vocals. The song duration should be up to 4 minutes. Duets, trios, quartets, etc., are categorized under vocal ensembles.

Awards
Prizes in each age group are awarded based on the total points received:

95-100% – 1st place
90-95% – 2nd place
85-90% – 3rd place
80-85% – 1st-degree diploma
75-80% – 2nd-degree diploma
70-75% – 3rd-degree diploma
Below 70% – Diploma
All participants will receive diplomas and souvenirs.

Evaluation
The competition will evaluate the participants' vocal preparation and professionalism, intonation, articulation, originality, stage presence, arrangement, and the suitability of the performed piece to the participant’s age category.
When evaluating ensembles, the jury will consider their ability to perform multi-voiced pieces.

The decision of the competition jury is final and non-negotiable. The organizers and the jury reserve the right to move participants to other categories if there are no deserving nominees in a particular category.
